Desolation

Okay, I had NO idea what category to put this picture in, lol. Very different than my usual pictures.

This begins the series of pictures from my vacation. This was taken on the last day, during a train ride. This was an old historic bridge, closed down now. And this kid was just standing there, watching the train pass. I snapped a picture just for the halibut. And then my dad says off-handedly, "That would have made a great shot, just the bridge and the kid standing in the middle." And I responded, "Oh, like this?" and I showed him the picture I had taken.

As this is very different than my usual photography, I'm not sure how it looks. I thought the aged film gave it a better feel than my usual vibrant pictures. And I thought the browner look was better than just black and white. What do you think?

The angle annoys me but I was in a moving train so there's not much I can do about it. What about the cropping? I like the chopping-off-the-edges here but I'm not sure if I should have cropped the top or bottom as well. I kept them the same but I wonder if I should have cropped out the sky and trees above the bridge. I don't think cropping the bottom would look as good, though. I like the bottom left as it is but I'm mostly unsure about the top.
